Do I need a referral for physical therapy from my physician?

Kyle has direct access authorization within the state of Pennsylvania. His direct access authorization allows him to treat patients appropriate for physical therapy for 30 days without a referral from a physician. This allows for you to receive physical therapy treatment immediately. If you do require physical therapy beyond the initial 30 days of treatment, then Kyle will contact your physician or other appropriate healthcare provider in order to obtain a referral. However, Kyle will refer you to an appropriate healthcare provider if the treatment you require for your condition is outside of the scope of practice for a physical therapist.

Do I need exercise equipment for my sessions?

Accepted Answer

It is not required for you to have exercise equipment. All necessary items will be provided by your physical therapist. This includes, but is not limited to a treatment table, therabands, aerobic step, dumbbells, and kettlebells. However, if a client does own equipment it may be used upon their request.

What kind of area do I need in my home to complete my sessions?

It is encouraged to have a quiet and large enough room free of clutter and distraction to complete your exercises safely in.

How should I dress for my sessions?

Accepted Answer

Wear clothing that you feel comfortable exercising in and that does not limit your movement.  Please make sure to wear closed toe shoes such as sneakers for safety purposes.

How long will my sessions be?

Accepted Answer

The length of each of your sessions varies based upon your unique condition and specific needs.  Each physical therapy appointment is scheduled for up to one hour.

How long will it take to see results with physical therapy?

Accepted Answer

This varies between each individual. A plan of care will be designed based upon your specific needs once an evaluation is completed. Your progress will then be regularly measured throughout the course of treatment. Progress toward your goals will also be routinely discussed with you.

Will the physical therapist communicate with my physician?

Yes, Kyle will regularly discuss your progress with your physician. Initial evaluations, progress reports, and discharge notes will also be forwarded directly to your physician’s office.

Do you take insurance?

Accepted Answer

Light the Path Physical Therapy does not accept insurance and is considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies. This rids you the hassle and frustration of dealing with red tape that third-party payers so often create and prevents them from interfering and intruding on your personal care. This gives you back the freedom to make your own decisions regarding your treatment directly with your physical therapist.

If I am currently enrolled or are eligible for Medicare and/or Medicaid insurance can I use your services?

At this current time we do not accept patients who are currently enrolled or are eligible for Medicare and/or Medicaid insurance.  Light the Path Physical Therapy has elected “opt out” status of Medicare and Medicaid participation and has no relationship with these types of insurance.

Will you provide me with the necessary paperwork for out-of-network benefits?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will provide you with the documentation necessary for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. However, it is vital for you to check with your insurance company to verify if your policy includes out-of-network benefits and to inquire on the process on how to receive these benefits.

Will you provide me with a good faith estimate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a good faith estimate will be provided to you.  A good faith estimate will be provided to you no later than three business days after you request one without scheduling an appointment.  A good faith estimate will be provided to you no later than three business days after you schedule an appointment if the appointment is scheduled ten or more days before the day of service.  A good faith estimate will be provided to you no later than one business day after you schedule an appointment if the appointment is scheduled three to nine days before the day of service.  If a good faith estimate needs to be updated or modified it will be provided to you within one business day before your next scheduled appointment.
